This is a song that came from a London Songwriters meetup collaboration (the prompt was 'Success'). I took the song away, rewrote the chorus, added a middle 8 and changed a few lyrics here and there but most of the song was written in 90 minutes on the day

Afloat in a sea of stress
This is the size of the task at stake

A willow bent in form

I am adrift in a drift of sand
A dark and distant land

The distant rumblings of war

A stab in the dark of my best guess
I have a job and a wage to earn
I wait for the screw to turn
It is unreasonable to assume
The light in the shining dark and gloom
Is like a beacon to which i'm drawn
The sunshine after the dawn

I am a dancer with two left feet
But it keeps me off the street
